‘Housing online’ provides benefits to about 50000 housing beneficiaries every year to track the sanctions and payments online. GIS based Village information System is being launched this month to provide support to district administration in planning and implementation of various projects.

JOINT CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER, AP:
ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA (2003-04)


Before moving to Stanford, he worked for Election Commission of India in the capacity of Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh. During this assignment, he was entrusted a challenging project to empower the voters. The project was designed and grounded and we provided on the spot laminated Photo Identity Cards to 85% of the 54 million voters or Andhra Pradesh state in their dwelling villages. The teams were formed and Computers, printers and special software was deployed in the field. This enabled the Election Commission to conduct general elections in India during 2004 in a very fair and transparent manner.


ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONER (FINANCE & IT),
MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF HYDERABAD (2001-2003)


He conceptualized and launched a project ‘e-Hyderabad’ to benefit citizens of twin cities Hyderabad & Secunderabad on hassle free municipal services. The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad provides civic services to a population of about 6 millions. This project provided transparent services to citizen doorsteps and also empowered them by involving in decision making process. The project was FINALIST in ‘e-Government category for the STOCKHOLM CHALLENGE AWARD 2002. He participated in the finals at Stockholm and interacted with many delegates, researchers, academicians and leaders in ICT field across the globe. This experience has enriched his knowledge and encouraged him to take up more challenges in future. As an Additional Commissioner(Finance& IT) in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, he could able to improve the property tax revenues of the corporation from Rs. 90 Crores to Rs. 150 Crores within a span of just 18 months by building the property tax database and making it totally transparent and accessible to the tax payers to operate online.


JOINT COLLECTOR,
WARANGAL DISTRICT, INDIA (1999-2001)


During his assignment as Joint Collector of Warangal district which has a population of 3.5 million, he took up computerization of land records for 3.4 million landholders and linked the data to the multipurpose household survey database. The linking has been useful in agricultural loaning and proper land administration. He has also designed a computerized coupon delivery for the public distribution system. The computerized coupon was the unique experiment in the country. It ensured the delivery of ration coupons to the real beneficiary. On account of this project, the Andhra Pradesh Government could save about $1 million every year.


MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER
RAJAHMUNDRY (1998-1999)


He took up building databases for each department in the civic body. The databases were linked and networks were established. Peoples Estimates were taken up to improve transparency and IT initiatives helped bridging the gap between citizen and Government.

Shri Rajendra Narendra Nimje, not only served the nation for more than a decade but also is responsible in making Andhra Pradesh a hi-tech city. He has always shown interest in the well being of the under privileged people and has actively participated in the vested interest of the public with his qualification and experience.
